Zoe’s practice fuses the digital with the material world, revolving around the manipulation between both categories and the by-products of play, whereby the capabilities of technological aesthetics and manual techniques become blurred in an attempt to combine botanical and human anatomy in harmony. In using 3D softwares to design interpretative forms from which she paints, Zoe hope’s to re-centre how technology can be used as a weaponised tool against the paradigms of female health and the medicalisation that seeks to control it. Speculative objects are constructed as a necessary pursuit to invent a language around the transhumanist gynecological paradigm under a methodology of care. Through a practice grounded in archiving and cultivation, Zoe repurposes symbols of the overlooked in landscapes exploited for their natural offerings. Her aim is to recalibrate how bodies and creatures can no longer be of use to higher structures but retaliate through laying still. Zoe (b. 2000) is based in South-East London
